Memories and conversations go hand in hand because we tend to relate one with the other and, later think about both. One can be picky with memories but not with conversations. What one has spoken remains intact as it cannot be changed and impacts a lot to the other party involved. Funny thing is, this is the only way you get to know a person prima-facie and also, how they make you feel. Don’t you think our conversations have become banal over some time? We are always beating around the bush but not saying what’s on one’s mind. We fear if we speak the truth then things might go wrong, but we are ready to deal with ourselves feeling bad. It is supposed to be wrong, but the majority of people will disagree with this. We tend to say things that we are not looking forward to doing, but end up doing exactly the same. This usually happens when we are not comfortable enough to share our inner thoughts and then we come to those conversations which happen overnight without letting yourself know that it is happening. I believe we all love these conversations.
Let me ask you something, “How often do you communicate what you want to say?”. I don’t think it happens as often as you want it to be. Have you ever asked yourself what is stopping you? If yes, you are in the right direction of solving things out because then you know where you have to look. If no, sadly you are making it a habit consciously or unconsciously in a few cases. Judgement, it is one of those reasons which puts you off and you tend to shy away from letting things out. I, for one, am a believer of grey areas as not everything is pure black or pure white. There are areas where you need to trade carefully to maintain a balance. Some people don’t get it and you don’t have to worry about those because not everybody can get you even people who are close to you. There are things which we need to handle on our own no matter what. Yes, they can be your support system when you fall back, but they can’t stand at your place.
I’m sure we all have such instances where we think we cannot utter a single word, but end up blabbering everything. These are the best kind because you are free from any kind of judgement and can express whatever is coming to your mind. There is no lag or filter. It’s just you, your thoughts and that listener. Remember those late-night conversations you have with your siblings or friends where you both are serious but keep the environment light. These conversations make the best memories because you feel free and alive. And against all the odds, you want to keep moving forward.
Conversations are important because unless you let things out how the other person will get to know your perspective about things. You have to tell what is wrong when things don’t look fine. Also, not just ‘what’ you said, but ‘how’ you said it matters. So, let your talks be as expressive as you can and let people in. It might not seem easy but you got to try.
